December Board of Review

The Kearney Township Board of Review will meet on Tuesday, December 9, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. at the Kearney Township Hall located at 4820 Aero Park Drive, Bellaire, MI for the purpose of fixing qualified errors and/or mutual mistake of fact.

Notice - Openings on the Zoning Board of Appeals & Board of Review

Kearney Township currently has one opening on each of the following Boards:

Kearney Township Zoning Board of Appeals (ZBA):  The ZBA meets on the second Monday of January annually, at 7:00 p.m., and on an as needed/requested basis during the year.  The ZBA hears appeals of decisions rendered by the Zoning Administrator, interprets unclear provisions in the Zoning Ordinance, decides on applications by landowners to permit buildings or land uses which vary from the zoning ordinance. The ZBA has five (5) members. Members serve a three (3) year renewable term.

Kearney Township Board of Review (BOR):  The BOR meets in March, July and December. The BOR makes decisions on taxpayer appeals relating to valuations made by the Township Assessor. The Board also corrects clerical errors and considers principal residence exemption appeals.  Members serve a two-year renewable term. The term of the current vacancy ends on December 31, 2026.

Regular/Special Board Meeting on December 1, 2025

The Kearney Township Board of Trustees’ next regular meeting will be held on Monday, December 1, 2025.  In addition, a Special Meeting will be held on Monday, December 1, 2025 with the Planning Commission members.  The purpose of the Special meeting will be to discuss the current Township Zoning Ordinance with the Township attorney.  Both meetings will be held at 7:00 p.m. at the Kearney Township Hall located at 4820 Aero Park Drive, Bellaire.  The Agenda will be available at the meeting.  Please see the complete schedule under the Meetings tab.
