Minutes


Meeting called to order at 7:10pm.

Pledge of allegiance.

Roll call: present- Fleet, Niepoth, Hagood, Petrie. Absent- Valuet.

No conflict of interest was noted.

Motion by Hagood supported by Fleet to approve the agenda with the addition of “ approval of fireworks permit for Shanty Creek for the 4th of July”, carried.

Motion by Fleet supported by Hagood to approve the minutes of Feb. 6, 2017, carried.

Motion by Hagood supported by Niepoth to approve the minutes of Feb. 20, 2017, carried.

Motion by Fleet supported by Hagood to approve payment of the bills as presented, carried.

Public comment- Brian Smith asked about the new gate for Flewelling Cemetery. Niepoth told him it was scheduled to be done.

The Swiss Village East Lawsuit concerning their roads is still pending.

The board discussed the VSI Tax Tribunal concerning airport hangars at the Antrim County Airport.

Motion by Fleet supported by Hagood to approve the fireworks permit for Shanty Creek, carried.

Motion by Hagood supported by Niepoth to table the Budget amendment for the 2016-17 fiscal year and table setting the wages for next fiscal year in order to get more information, carried.

Public comment: Brian Smith asked about the Mohrmann Park Trails and the property belonging to Echo Township. The Mohrmann Park property belongs to the County so Brian suggested the board may want to attend the Commissioner’s meeting on March 9, 2017. The treasurer plans to attend.

Officer’s Reports: printed reports were given.

Kearney Township Special Board Meeting and Public Budget Hearing

March 29th, 2017

Minutes


Meeting was called to order at 7:00pm.

Pledge of allegiance

Roll call: Fleet, Niepoth, Valuet, Hagood, and Petrie. Absent: 0.

No conflict of interest was noted.

Motion by Fleet supported by Valuet to approve the agenda as presented, carried.

Public Budget Hearing was opened at 7:07pm.

The Board reviewed the proposed budget for 2017-2018

Public Comment: None.

Public Budget Hearing was closed at 7:25pm.

Motion by Hagood supported by Valuet to pass the resolution adopting the 2017-2018 budget. Roll call vote: Yes – Fleet, Niepoth, Valuet, Hagood, Petrie. No – 0. Carried.

Motion by Fleet supported by Hagood to pass the resolution to amend the 2016-2017 budget concerning elections and assessor. Roll call vote: Yes-Fleet Niepoth, Valuet, Hagood , Petrie. No-. Motion carried.

Motion by Hagood supported by Petrie to pass the resolution to keep the wages for Trustee the same as last year. Roll call vote : Yes - Fleet, Niepoth, Valuet, Hagood, Petrie. No-0. Motion carried.

Motion by valuet supported by Hagood to pass the resolution to keep the Supervisor wages the same as last year. Roll call vote: - Yes Fleet, Niepoth,Valuet, Hagood, Petrie. No-0. Motion carried.

Motion by Hagood supported by Valuet to pass the resolution to keep the Clerk salary the same as last year. Roll call vote: Yes- Fleet, Niepoth, Valuet, Hagood, Petrie. No-0. Motion carried.

Motion by Valuet supported by Niepoth to pass the resolution to keep the Treasurer salary the same as last year. Roll call vote: Yes- Fleet, Niepoth, Valuet, Hagood, Petrie. No-0. Motion carried.

Motion by Hagood supported by Niepoth to pass the resolution to keep all boards and employees wages the same as last year. Roll call vote: Yes- Fleet, Niepoth, Valuet, Hagood, Petrie. No-o. Motion carried.

Motion by Hagood supported by Petrie to set the meeting dates for the 2017-2018 fiscal year, carried.
