Meeting called to order at 7:00 p.m.

Pledge of allegiance

Roll call: Present - Niepoth, Fleet, Kotz, Hagood Absent-Petrie

No conflict of interest was noted.

Motion by Fleet, seconded by Niepoth to approve the agenda as presented, carried.

Motion by Fleet, seconded by Hagood to approve last month’s minutes as presented, carried.

Motion by Hagood, seconded by Fleet to pay the bills as presented, carried.

Public comment: None

Report from the supervisor that a lot of work has been done at Brydon Cemetery, it’s much improved.

Hagood reported that she’s working on the policy manual, will have something for the board at the next board meeting.

Report on the status of the outdoor bulletin board was tabled until next month because of the clerk’s absence.

Kevin Giar presented the board with a proposed plan for snow removal of the parking lot this winter. He had a concern of being notified in advance when the hall was rented so he would know when it needed to be plowed. Motion by Kotz, seconded by Niepoth to hire Kevin for snow removal. Carried. Hagood will e-mail the dates the hall is rented this winter to Kevin.

Report on the status of the new chairs for election workers was tabled until next month because of the clerk’s absence.

Report on the status of the widening of the driveway was tabled until next month because of the clerk’s absence.

Tim Hannert explained to the board about the Bellaire Fire Department’s proposed Cost Recovery Ordinance. He explained how he put the proposal together by researching other fire departments’ ordinances. This ordinance would be used for extraordinary events that use a lot more BDFA resources than normal. Forest Home Township and Kearney Township have to approve submitting this draft to our attorney. Forest Home has already approved it. Motion by Kotz, seconded by Fleet, to submit Cost Recovery Ordinance Draft to our attorney, carried.

The board discussed the letter we received from Mortensen Funeral Homes regarding new charges to the township for various services that Mortensen’s provides. These charges went into effect October 1, 2014. The board has questions regarding these charges and requested a representative from Mortensen’s at the next board meeting. The supervisor will look into it.

The supervisor reported on the Township Ambulance Authority quarterly meeting he attended. Allied EMS Systems, Inc. is looking to expand to bring in more revenue. No board action was required.
