Minutes


Meeting called to order at 7:00pm.

Pledge of allegiance.

Roll call: present- Niepoth, Fleet, Kotz, Hagood, Petrie. Absent- 0.

No conflict of interest was noted.

Motion by Hagood supported by Kotz to approve the agenda with the addition of “outside lighting for the hall building” as item C under new business, carried.

Motion by Fleet supported by Hagood to approve the minutes of Sept. 3, 2013 as presented, carried.

Motion by Fleet supported by Niepoth approve the minutes of Sept. 25, 2013 as presented, carried.

Motion by Niepoth supported by Kotz to approve payment of the bills as presented, carried.

Public comment: Sheriff Dan Bean reported the township activity and announced that unused prescription drugs can be dropped off on Saturday, October 26th at the Sheriff’s Department from

10:00 am to 2:00pm.

Abonmarche finished locating the unmarked graves at Flewellen Cemetery and gave us a map of the available space and where the lots are already taken. The board will request an estimate from them for doing the next phase which would be putting down lot markers.

Motion by Niepoth supported by Kotz to accept the proposal $3,000 from Northern Tree Transplanting to take down and chip the Poplar trees on the south side lot line and on the west side lot line, carried.

We are still waiting for information on widening the driveway into the township parking lot

Motion by Fleet supported by Niepoth to use Option #1 from Giar for snowplowing, carried..

Motion by Hagood supported by Fleet to rescind the motion to put an ad in the paper for snowplowing and having the end of the driveway widened, carried.

Giar Excavating completed the excavation work at the Township Hall to prevent the parking lot from flooding in the spring if the water table is high again. He also hauled the excess dirt to Eldred Cemetery to fill in the low area.

Motion by Hagood supported by Niepoth to sign the lease with O.I.L. Energy Group for the road ending off North Lakes Rd., carried.

Motion by Fleet supported by Kotz to approve the fireworks permit for fireworks at Shanty Creek on New Years, carried.

Motion by Hagood supported by Fleet to accept the proposal from Arndt Electric to install LED lighting on the exterior of the Hall building which is less expensive than traditional lighting, carried.
