Kearney Township Board Meeting Minutes

Meeting called to order at 7:00pm.

Pledge of allegiance.

Roll call: present - Niepoth, Fleet, Kotz, Hagood, Petrie. Absent-0-.

No conflict of interest was noted.

Motion by Hagood supported by Fleet to approve the agenda with the addition of item D under new business “confirm Beverly Hott as the treasurer’s new deputy clerk and as such she has the authority to be a signer on the township’s accounts”, carried.

Motion by Fleet supported by Niepoth to approve last month’s minutes as presented, carried.

Motion by Niepoth supported by Hagood to approve payment of the bills as presented, carried.

Public comment-none.

The board received a recommendation from the planning commission that the medical marijuana ordinance be extended for one year. Roll call vote: yes- Niepoth, Fleet Hagood, Petrie. No- Kotz. Motion carried. The planning commission reported that they had not heard back from the county on ordinances sent to them, as of their last meeting.

Widening the driveway is tabled until next month because the board has not gotten information from the pavers yet.

Public comment-none.

The supervisor opened bids the sealed bids on items the township offered for sale.

The bids for the John Deere tractor and the push mower went to Rex Hagood. The bids for the Stihl blower and the Stihl weed eater went to Dan Hiltz. The bid for the trailer was a tie and the bidders will be asked to submit bids again the break the tie.

The board had a request to approve an affidavit from the Crisciones who want to build a garage on a lot adjacent to the home but not combined, They would register the affidavit at the register of deeds saying that they would not sell the lots separately in the future. A decision has been tabled to get further information.

The township has ordered a sign to put up at our North Lakes Road property warning against the illegal mooring of boats.

Motion by Hagood supported by Fleet to approve Beverly Hott as the new Deputy Treasurer and as such she can be a signer on our bank accounts, carried.

Officers gave written reports.
